A man with an animal skin, skull and bones outfit takes part on a Carnival parade in the Basque village of Zubieta, Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.In one of the most ancient carnivals in Europa , dating from before the Roman empire, companies of Joaldunak (cowbells) involving the residents of both towns, parade the streets costumed in sandals, lace petticoats, sheepskins around the waist and shoulders, coloured neckerchiefs, conical caps with ribbons and a hyssop of horsehair in their right hands.
